Brick color offers an easy on-site reference to judge material grade and application for convenient inventory and construction management.
1. Clay bricks & high-alumina bricks: Mostly pale yellow, cream or light brown; higher Al2O3 content brings lighter shade.
2. Magnesia carbon & magnesia bricks: Mainly dark grey/black; higher carbon content leads to darker color.
3. Silica bricks: Usually pale yellow or off-white with uniform texture.
4. Lightweight insulating bricks: White, pale yellow or light red; porous and low density for heat preservation only.
5. Andalusite & spalling-resistant high-alumina bricks: Taupe, pinkish or light brown with good thermal shock resistance.
Proper color identification speeds up material selection and standardizes application, preventing shortened furnace service life and safety hazards from wrong brick selection.
